The Human Leukocyte Elastase ELISA Kit is a sensitive and specific immunoassay for the quantitative detection of human leukocyte elastase (HLE) in various biological fluids. HLE is a serine protease released from neutrophils and macrophages during inflammation and is involved in host defense, tissue remodeling, and inflammatory response regulation.
This kit is optimized for high-throughput screening and biomarker studies in conditions like COPD, cystic fibrosis, rheumatoid arthritis, sepsis, and cardiovascular inflammation.
Test Principle
This kit employs a sandwich ELISA format :
- A capture antibody specific for human leukocyte elastase is pre-coated on the plate.
- Standards and samples are added; elastase binds to the capture antibody.
- A biotin-conjugated detection antibody is added, followed by streptavidin-HRP.
- TMB substrate is added and a measurable color develops.
- Absorbance is read at 450 nm, and HLE concentrations are calculated from the standard curve.
